Hello Elementilists!

We have reached a very exciting milestone in the campaign, and all of us at Darkwood Games are excited to share this month’s update with you! However, first and foremost, we want to address some BackerKit Pledge Manager comments and questions we’ve received.

Pledge Manager

We officially locked all orders and pre-orders for Elementile with BackerKit this past weekend. A small percentage of backers’ orders were unable to lock, and BackerKit sent an automated email to those individuals saying some survey questions need to be completed prior to finalizing your order. We’ve been reviewing these cases as no information appears to be missing from these orders, and the inability to lock the orders appears to be a technical glitch. We are actively working with BackerKit to get some answers about the error and will update you as soon as we have more insight. Please note that there have been no changes made to your pledge, add-ons, and/or shipping information and you will still be receiving your game and whatever other items you may have ordered. In the meantime, we are delaying charging anyone’s cards for the funds collected through BackerKit until after this issue is resolved.

Demo Copies

As many of you saw in our last mini mid-August update, we recently received our demo copies of the Premium edition of Elementile from our manufacturer! We have to admit, it is very special seeing the final product in real life after countless hours of hard work and with all of the finalized art! That said, there were a couple of minor details that did not meet the team’s quality expectations, which will be resolved with the manufacture over the next 1-2 weeks before the final green light is given for full scale production.

Those of you who saw the pictures in our last update may have noticed something a little extra we decided to include with our game - a black game tray organizer! Including the tray organizer was originally a Kickstarter stretch goal of ours that we didn’t quite hit. However, the team decided as a Thank You for all the support, including a prefabricated card/token/mat organizer would be a valuable addition and great quality of life surprise to all of our backers! In our demo copies we did notice some minor cracking to the organizer, which likely occurred in shipping, and we have already told the manufacturer to use a thicker plastic to avoid this issue in full production.

We were in LOVE with the look of the holographic hero cards included in the Premium editions of the game, and can’t wait to hear all of your thoughts once they’re in your hands soon!

Timeline

Phase 1 (Design and Development) is officially complete!!!

We are still aiming to begin shipping and fulfillment this November in time for the holiday season.

Our next update is scheduled for October 11, 2022, but expect a mid-September update about the Pledge Manager, as mentioned.

Quick Update about Demo Copies

Hello Elementalists!

Today is going to be a rather short update for you all. We are still waiting on the demo copies of Elementile to arrive from the manufacturer but hope to have them in hand very soon! Once we’ve reviewed and signed off on the demos, we will be initiating full-scale manufacturing. Estimates from our manufacturer indicate we should still receive the final copies of the game in November, and we will be sure to update you if anything changes that timeline. Otherwise, we have a couple of quick notes about the enamel pins and the pledge manager.

Enamel Pins

We’ve received the final backings and supplies for the enamel pins, so we’re now well underway with packing these pieces! We decided to use background art that is reminiscent of the hero cards the pins were inspired by and really love how they turned out.

Pledge Manager

The pledge manager will be closing and locking in your orders on August 31st. For those of you that have not completed your BackerKit surveys, please do so asap or before the end of the month. If you do not complete this step, we will not be able to ship your rewards to you. No survey = no game. We will send out reminders to complete your survey a week before the pledge manager closes on August 24th and the day before the pledge manager closes on August 30th.

Production Update, Convention News, and Updated Box Art

Hello Elementalists!

This month’s update will be pretty short and sweet. As you’ve all likely seen by now, the Elementile Print and Play edition was released a little less than two weeks ago! We hope you’ve been enjoying getting to test out the game, draft or construct decks, and take a closer look at all of the completed art! Which element(s) do you favor? Have you discovered any fun synergies? We’d love your feedback!

Demo Copies

We’ve placed the order for the demo copies of Elementile with our manufacturer!! We expect to receive them sometime within the next month or so, and we’re so excited to see all of the final art and components in person! Once we’ve inspected the demos and approved everything, we will initiate full-scale production of the game. As of now, we are still on track to begin shipping and fulfillment this November, so hopefully Elementile will be in your hands by Christmas! If there are any changes to this timeline, we will be sure to let you know as soon as we do.

Pledge Manager

There is still no hard deadline for when we are closing the pledge manager, but we anticipate locking in the orders around mid-August after the demo copies of Elementile have been received and reviewed. We will send out plenty of notifications well in advance of the closing date, but please make sure your order information and address are accurate prior to then.

Premium Edition Box Art

Thank you for all your comments about the new Premium Edition box art we unveiled in the last update! Based on your responses, we’ve amped up the contrast slightly and have also decided to foil the lettering to add even more pop and distinction. The demo copies we ordered are of the Premium Edition, and seeing the box in person will help us determine if the changes are sufficient or if anything else should be adjusted before the final printing.

Classic Game Fest

Our resident artist, Amanda, will have an Artist Alley booth at Classic Game Fest in Austin, TX on July 23rd and 24th. She and Alex will be bringing an early demo copy of Elementile to the show, so if you’re in the area or attending, stop by and say hi, chat about the game, and take a look at all of the early designs/sketches.
